Introducing Live Traffic & SNO Trending Stories

While many of you are (hopefully) enjoying the start of a well-earned summer break, we’re not great at taking time off. In fact, we’ve just added something fun to the Site Booster: a new tool called Live Traffic.

Live Traffic gives you a real-time snapshot of who’s on your site at this very moment. You’ll see how many visitors are active right now, what stories they’re reading, where they’re located, how they found you, and even how far they’ve scrolled down the page. You can click into any visitor for more detail, or compare today’s traffic against the same time last week.

It’s a great way to watch a big story take off in real time or to see how your audience responds the moment you publish.

If your site has the Site Booster, you’ll find Live Traffic in your dashboard today just below SNO Analytics.

A couple of things to know:  Live Traffic is built for live snapshots, not long-term reporting. Data is kept for 8 days, so for historical trends and detailed reports, Google Analytics is still your best friend. And because every analytics system counts things a little differently, don’t be surprised if the numbers here don’t match GA exactly — that’s normal.

One more thing: all this new data let us build something we think you’ll enjoy.  Check out trending.snosites.com. It refreshes every minute with the most-viewed sites across the SNO network, and you can sort by segment and time frame.
