Standing With Our Community

As a company based in Minnesota’s Twin Cities, we want to take a moment to acknowledge what is happening here and to bring attention to the profound impact it is having on our home.

Many people have seen national coverage of the ICE presence in our region. Here locally, we are seeing the effects firsthand. We are alarmed and saddened by what’s happening in our neighborhoods and by the fear and disruption this has caused for so many families in our community. What we are witnessing is unprecedented, and it’s not something we can ignore or pretend isn’t affecting the place we love.

In our 18-year history, SNO Sites has never felt compelled to address an issue like this directly. However, we believe this moment calls for awareness and attention, especially from those of us who believe deeply in the essential role of journalism during a time of genuine crisis.

We encourage our community to stay informed by following and supporting local journalists who are on the ground documenting what’s happening every day. Respected Minnesota news organizations providing vital, real-time coverage include:

For those looking for constructive ways to engage, we encourage:

  • Thoughtful student journalism, whether through reporting, commentary, or classroom discussion that emphasizes accuracy, empathy, and responsible reporting

  • Support for reputable nonprofit organizations providing legal aid, advocacy, or humanitarian assistance to immigrant families and communities

We are grateful to work with educators and student journalists who care deeply about their communities and understand the importance of paying attention, and of documenting history as it unfolds.
