SNO’s Year in Numbers

Happy (almost) New Year! 🎉

We’re not sure about you, but the new year always puts us in a reflective mood. As we anticipate the year ahead, it can be fun to look back on the trends that dominated the previous one. Last year, that involved recalling a viral hippo that stole hearts, channeling our inner Elphaba, and getting the lyrics to “Espresso” stuck in our heads yet again.

When we look back at 2025, a few numbers seemed to have a bit of a moment. If you’ve been anywhere near a classroom this year, we suspect you probably know the ones we’re talking about, but just in case you don’t, they show up after five and before eight (insert hand motions).

In the spirit of trending numbers, we’d like to share a few of our own from the past year. And for those of you hoping that the previously mentioned trend stays in 2025, rest assured that those two numbers don’t show up together anywhere in our list!

Over the past 12 months, SNO Sites has: 

  • Received over 100,000 pageviews on snosites.com

  • Maintained a total server uptime of 99.99%

  • Managed 13.45 terabytes of student journalism

  • Stored 33.79 terabytes of website backups across 3 independent systems

  • Solved approximately 14,524 support tickets with an average response time of 29 minutes 

  • Reviewed over 12,000 Best of SNO submissions

  • Recognized 74 SNO Distinguished Sites

  • Conducted approximately 495 trainings, demos, and webinars

  • Welcomed 95 attendees to our summer Academy workshops

  • Supported 11,794 active FLOW users

  • Stored 65,143 stories created on FLOW

  • Had over 40,000 downloads for the Student News Source and College News Source apps

  • Sold 201 ads through the SNO Ads network

  • Processed 2,202 donations through SNO Donate, including a largest single donation of over $1,000
