The SNO Student Academy is a comprehensive,
virtual training workshop for journalism students.
Whether students are new editors or seasoned staff veterans, we hope they’ll join SNO’s technical trainers for an intense, two-day workshop. We’ll help participants learn and immediately put into practice methods to manage and improve the design and function of their website.

FAQs
What topics will be covered?
We’re glad you asked! Here is a general overview we put together, outlining some of what we’ll be talking about during the workshop. (Click for PDF)
What is the schedule like for each day?
The workshop will run from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (CDT) with a one-hour break for lunch each day.
Periodic breaks will be provided throughout the day as needed.
Please note these times are listed in Central Time. Make sure to adjust accordingly for your time zone!
What level of site access will students need?
Prior to the workshop, each attendee needs administrator level access on the site in order to fully participate in all workshop activities.
What materials do students need?
Students will need a computer with Zoom and reliable internet access. Students will also need administrator level access to the site (see previous question).
Can multiple students from the same school attend?
Yes, but attendance is limited to no more than three students per school to ensure there’s space for everyone!
