Virtual SNO Day

Whether you’re brand new to SNO or you just need a refresher, a virtual SNO Day offers a comprehensive overview of all the site’s content and design tools.

Registration includes one adviser plus two students.

Where will the workshop take place?

Workshops will be conducted via Zoom.

The adviser will receive the Zoom link prior to the workshop date.

What topics will be covered?

This workshop will focus on covering a combination of the site’s content and design tools.

Topics will include the following:

Story Publishing
Story Templates & Packaging Tools (Long-Form Format, Infoboxes, etc.)
Other Content Tools (Polls, Sports Scores, etc.)
Site Design Tools (Header Design, Fonts, Category Templates, etc.)
Widgets & Widget Styles
Story Template Customization
Other (if time allows)

What will the schedule look like?

The workshop will be split into two sections — morning and afternoon. Morning will focus more on the site’s content and story formatting tools, and afternoon will focus more on site design tools.

There will be a 30-minute break for lunch around mid-day. Short breaks will also be provided throughout the day as needed.

What materials will attendees need?

Everyone in attendance should have login access to the site. At least one person will need an administrator level user account in order to access the site’s design tools.

Other than that, make sure you have a computer, a power cord, and internet access.

Can the same school register for multiple sessions?

No. Because space is limited in each workshop, only one registration per school is allowed.

Do all attendees from the same school need to be together?

Preferably, yes. While not required, attending together in the same location will make collaboration and discussion much easier!

What should attendees do beforehand to prepare?

Nothing! Just come ready to learn about all the tools available on your site.
