FAQs
What is the schedule like for each day?
In-Person Session
Our in-person Adviser Academy is organized around travel. Use Monday before your workshop to travel to the city. From there, we’ll get started by 9 a.m. each day and wrap up by 4 p.m.
On Friday, we will offer an option morning session from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Want to catch an earlier flight? No problem. No new instruction will occur on Friday.
Virtual Sessions
Our virtual sessions are split into four half-days.
For the June session (morning), we will begin each day at 9 a.m. CST and conclude around noon.
For the July session (afternoon), we will begin each day at 1 p.m. CST and conclude around 4 p.m.
What materials do I need?
Come prepared with something to take notes on and a laptop and power cord. We’ll cover a lot of ground and devote a lot of time to working hands-on with your own website.
- For in-person sessions, we’ll provide the WiFi in house.
- For virtual sessions, you may find it easier to use two different devices if possible: one for viewing the Zoom meeting, and one for completing work on your website.
What should I do to prepare before my session?
Preparing anything beforehand is not necessary, but here are a few things you may want to think about ahead of time to maximize your Adviser Academy experience.
- Take a look at the itinerary (in the tab below) and prepare any specific questions you have.
- Get inspired! Take a look at our Award Winner and Design Showcase sites to find ideas and designs you may want to try.
- Seek staff input. Is there anything they’d like you to do or implement on the site during the Academy?
- Create any new materials you may want to use on the site (like a new graphic logo, for example).

Can I earn professional development credits for this?
You bet! We’ll be providing 24 hours of training at the in-person workshop (12 for the virtual workshop) and send you home with a certificate as evidence that you made it through successfully.
